2007 Season’s Greetings
How could it be, another year has slipped away? 2008 will be Gail Byers Real Estate’s ninth year at 110 East Third
St. Gail has been a realtor 30 years in Moscow as of February 2008. Wow, that’s a lot of water under the bridge.
She has definitely seen a few changes.
Gail and husband, Bob, honeymooned in Mexico in January. It was a great time to head south for a few days.
Gail’s older son, Tod and his family live in Spokane. Five children make for an active household. Gail and Bob
enjoy visiting whenever they can. Gail’s younger son Kirk and wife, Caroline, live in San Francisco. Gail and Bob
visit a couple of times a year. In June all four went on a hot air balloon ride over Napa Valley. What a view!
Johnnie Sue is looking forward to actively resuming birding in 2008, after an absence of about 30 years. She and
husband, Rolly, bird casually whenever on vacation but plan to do more serious birding stateside this coming year.
Daughter, Alexandra is changing career direction, going back to school to pursue a degree to lead her to a career
in forensic media. Remington is in grad school at the University of Maryland studying physics.
Susan’s work toward ordination is nearing completion and should be accomplished in the new year. Her son,
Matthew graduated from LCSC in June with his AS in Automotive Technology and is working at Paradise Ford. Her
first effort in years at organic gardening this summer was a bountiful success. Tomatoes, squash, beans, and a
plethora of herbs were enjoyed by her family and friends.
Be assured that Moscow’s housing market continues to be stable and active. National press and media focus on
the doom and gloom, has made it is hard not to think the worst about our market. Moscow’s market has been
somewhat protected from the vast appreciation and rapid depreciation that many US markets experienced.
Below is a short summary of the Moscow market from 1/1/07 to 12/3/07. These figures are for Single Family
homes in Moscow, (not all of Latah County, no mobile homes). 2006 figures are below for comparison.
